University Place

What I Love Most About University Place (& My Favorite Secret Spot!)

University Place in Pierce County has grown and changed so much in just the past few years. In this video, I’m sharing what I love about this picturesque city on the Puget Sound:

Here are some of my favorite things about University Place:

University Place is home to so many fantastic grocery stores.

Whole Foods, Harbor Greens, Trader Joe’s, Fred Meyer, and Safeway are all in University Place! No matter where you live in UP, you’re just a few minutes away from having a great local grocery option.

University Place is the home of ramblers!

If you’re getting ready to buy a home and you want a rambler, University Place might be just the city to search in. One-level living here is plentiful, but of course there are many other styles of homes as well. Whether you’re downsizing or need a bigger place, UP has a large variety of house options to explore.

Chambers Bay in University Place is a regional destination with absolutely stunning views.

Walk your dog on a scenic trail, have a picnic with breathtaking views of the Puget Sound, let little ones have fun on the Playground by the Sound, play a round of golf at Chambers Bay Golf Course (and home of the 2015 U.S. Open)… and more! You can visit Chambers Bay time and time again, and still find something new to do and see.

My Favorite Secret Spot: Day Island

While Day Island is not technically an island (a sand spit connects Day Island to University Place), this charming community offers plentiful views of the Puget Sound and is home to Day Island Yacht Club. You can check out the island, then head to Boathouse 19 or Steamer’s Seafood Cafe for dinner!
